Harbour House is on a fine Victorian terrace where many of Whitby’s great sea captains lived. There are wonderful views of the upper harbour, the east side and the Abbey. The centre of Whitby is a short walk away.
There is a private parking space at the front of the house for our guests. Captain’s Cabin is a very comfortable marine-themed double room with an en-suite shower, tea/coffee making facilities, CD/radio/tape player and colour TV.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept pets and the house is unsuitable for disabled people. Please note, Harbour House is a non-smoking establishment.
The price for the room with full English breakfast: from £50 per night.
Whitby is a unique working seaside town and has so much to offer. It is surrounded on three sides by the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors and the Esk Valley, for enjoying the countryside. On the fourth side is the sea with long sandy beaches and the piers from where you can see the sun set over Lythe Bank.
Whitby is gaining a reputation for exciting music festivals covering a wide range of music. These include a 60s festival and Northern Soul in early summer, Folk Week in August and the very successful Musicport World Music Festival in October.
Goths visit Whitby in April and October to liven up the town and parade their special look.
The North Yorkshire Moors Railway steam trains come into Whitby regularly during the summer months and these can get you to Grosmont and all stations to Pickering – a beautiful train journey.
Last but not least, Whitby’s jewel is the haunting outline of the ruined Abbey and the beautiful parish church of St Mary’s. The views from here are spectacular.
We look forward to welcoming you to Harbour House and Whitby.
